A gathering on a real ranch… quite an experience for both the young and the old!

For quite a while now Liesbeth has been working during weekends on Double D Ranch and real cowboy ranch in Heist-op-den-Berg.

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks, Liesbeth was always telling about the great treasure she found. Soon there was talk at the bar about Jesus and Liesbeth and her church. The managers and several customers told her they would like to assist to one of those church meetings but to actually go all the way to that church that was too much asked for… Then Werner, the owner of the ranch, came up with a great proposal: “If you ever need a place to have one of your gatherings, you’re very welcome to have it here.”

So the idea grew to hold an outreach meeting as Sunday service at the ranch.
Jesus encouraged us to go out in the world to preach the gospel and that is exactly what we did on Sunday 23rd.

It was great: a totally different setting in a beautifully furnished chalet amidst the meadows, lovely sunshine and Papa was there too! Over 20 people of the Double D Ranch showed up. There was exuberant singing that sounded beautiful in this wooden interior… from the beginning on you could notice tears here and there from people who were deeply touched by the songs and the ‘genuineness’ they tasted. The children sang and danced and had a unique children’s club on a real ranch with horses… they were gone for the rest of the morning! Hugo preached a powerful message full of hope about the risen Jesus. After the service many fine conversations developed with people hungry for more…

That is precisely why we are church, not just for ourselves to enjoy and grow, but to share this immense treasure we received with others!

Thank you Liesbeth for this tremendous opportunity! Thank you brothers and sisters for sharing your lives with these people…you made quite an impression, often even without words!
