Recovery from a severe burn out

“For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Cor 4:5)

I was doing for over 30 years all kind of leadership tasks in the church of Jesus, when a concurrence of events led to a complete mental crash. I entered unexpectedly and unwantedly a period of burn-out that would last several years.

I was relieved of my job as fulltime pastor and I was obliged to stop my involvement in Christian Flanders. I did not preach anywhere for over a year, although I had been doing this for years throughout the whole of Flanders. I even felt written off by God and fellow human beings. The civil society declared that I was incapable to work.

Divine protection on the way home

Thursday 22 January, the day before she turned 14, Sarah was biking home after school, at a certain point she had to cross the street. A small van was about to take a right turn and enter into the street, it had noticed her. They both stopped indicating the other to continue…. until they proceeded both at the same time… Sarah got hit but apart from a hurting knee, she had no injuries…. She is very thankful to her heavenly Father!!!

Pinched nerve loosens after prayer

Carine tells you the story:

“Monday 6th January, during the course of the day an awkward feeling settled in my left buttock… pretty painful! It felt like something was squeezed. On Tuesday I went to the evening service, all the time it felt like my left leg was shorter than the right one. After the meeting I went to see Ann and told her about it. Ann said a pinched nerve in my back was the most likely cause and she prayed for me. I accepted it … and I was convinced it would be all right.

Wednesday evening I suddenly realized the ailment had disappeared. That night I wholeheartedly thanked my heavenly Papa, He is simply great!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life….and yours too of course!”
